Easter Morning

Sunday, April 4, 2010 at 6:30 AM
Makenzie: "Mom, did you put our Easter Baskets out? The Easter Bunny didn't come..."
Me: "Makenzie, go to sleep. It is not Christmas morning. You can get up at 8:30 AM."
(Me cursing internally at myself for falling asleep watching a movie and not doing what I should have been doing! Me, setting out Easter Baskets for the Easter Bunny to make a visit at 6:30 AM Easter morning!)

A review of December 2008

So, it's been awhile! December flew in like a storm and flew out just as fast. What did we do in December? Well, I'll tell you.

December 5th was the Norman Family Christmas Party. It was at my cousins, Brett and Lacey's, brand new house in Mapleton. The kids loved it because their girls bedroom is big and open and has a playroom in it. It was great fun! Santa was there and we had lots of good eats and lots of fun hanging out.
December 6 was Nate's work Christmas Party and we had lots of fun. We went to The Melting Pot and the food was sooooo good. I want some right now!!

December 12 Kenzie and I made our Gingerbread House. We had lots of fun.

December 16th we had my brother Cody, his wife Courtney and their daughter Brinklee, my parents and my grand-parents over to do Christmas with Cody and Courtney since they were going to be in Mesa for Christmas. We ate soup and they opened presents from my parents and grand-parents and then we hung out. They got Kenzie a game that she already had, but we went and traded it for Twister, which we will be breaking out as soon as Courtney and Brinklee are back home... Hurry Back! They got Kamryn a piano and she loves it. Here she is opening it. It was good to just hang out with them before they left.

December 23rd was my 31st birthday and Nate got me a Wii FIT and I love it!! We have been trying to do it every night and it makes exercising so much fun.

Christmas Eve the girls opened the traditional new pj present and then I got them cute little ornaments that I thought were cute and a toy. Kenzie's ornament was a webkinz horse, like the webkinz she has, and a rubiks cube that no one has been able to figure out yet and Kamryn's ornament was a pig because she loves pigs and a fun book. After opening pj's it was time for bed so that Santa could make his rounds.

Christmas Day we actually got to sleep in a little. Kenzie didn't wake us up until about 7:30. It was probably good cuz I would have been really onrey had I been woke up any earlier. Santa was good to all of us this year. Kenzie got a High School Musical High School (like a barbie house, but a high school), karaoke machine, cd's, movies, camera, stocking full of goodies and loads of clothes (which she needed) and Kamryn got lots of Fisher-Price stuff (because I love little people and all that stuff), baby einstein movies, Elmo Live, toy box and lots of clothes and shoes that her fat little feet won't stay in. I hope they thin out soon! I got a new camera that fits in my purse, a nice watch, cd's and clothes and Nate got binoculars, shoes, clothes, dvd's and cd's. I over bought, like usually, but you only live once, right? Next year I hope to cut it back a little.

Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hate making resolutions so I just hope that everyone can achieve what they want in 2009.

Update

So, I got a little behind on the blog. Nate was harrassing me tonight because I still haven't taken my pictures off my camera since the Tuesday before Halloween! I'll try to rewind my short memory and see if I can remember what has happened in the last two weeks.

First we had our pumpkin carving festivities with my grandma and grandpa. We have been carving pumpkins with Mar and Gar since October 1997. At first it was just Nate and I, grandma, grandpa and my cousin Tesha, who was 10 years old at the time. It has now morphed into Grandma, Grandpa, my cousin Tesha, her neice (so my cousin) Shantell, Tesha's friend Jessica and her daughter Sierra, my mom, brother and his wife and daughter - Arlane, Cody, Courtney and Brinklee, Nate, myself, Kenzie and Kamryn and then whatever other friend of Tesha's that decides to pop in and carve a pumpkin. This year it was her friends and twin sisters, Saray & Iris and Iris' daughter Jasmin. Holy cow, so many people to cram into grandma's little house, but it was so much fun. My grandma and grandpa even carve pumpkins!! They are the best and are still so young at heart. I hope to be like them some day! Next, was our ward Halloween carnival. Makenzie dressed up as Hannah Montana and Kamryn was a cute pink and purple butterfly. In these pictures Kenzie doesn't look so much like Hannah Montana because she refused to wear the wig. She hated it because it made her itch. I finally talked her into wearing it Halloween day for the carnival at school.

Halloween day I went to Kenzie's school to help her with putting on her wig and chearing her on when they did their parade. That night we went to trunk or treat at our church. We had lots of fun. We ate hot dogs, chili and hot chocolate. Makenzie had so much fun with her best friend Emily. I was thinking that they were going to say "We want to go by ourselves because were big kids now," and then they surprised me when they said, "will you please walk around with us, we don't want to go by ourselves." It makes you feel good to know that you have at least one more year of a sweet innocent loving child who isn't ready to toss their mom out of the moving vehicle yet!

All in all, we had lots of fun this Halloween holiday. Hope you all did too! Maybe one of these years I'll be able to get Nate into dressing up and doing fun stuff like that (haha!)... Maybe Jim and Ryan need to work on my stubborn husband for me!

More 4th of July fun

Happy 4th of July 2008

As usual, we ventured to Delta for the Fourth of July festivities. I don't know what it is about it, but we love to go to Delta... maybe the awesome taffy throwing parade, or the silly costly games at the park, or the bbq-ing with family and then the Demolition Derby followed by a pretty good firework show? Who knows, but we do enjoy it. Those are the times that make me wish we could live in small town Delta, or a small town like Delta....

Mother's Day

Hope everyone had a GREAT Mother's Day yesterday!! So, we went to the park by Grandma Johnson's house and had a bbq. It was loads of fun. I was trying to figure out my new camera, but didn't have very many pictures turn out very good. Of course, the picture of Tesha, Jess & Sierra turned out the very best!

Easter

Easter was loads of fun!! We went to Grandma Florence & Grandpa Ken's house for an Easter Egg hunt.

For Easter, we kept it light this year. The girls got Easter baskets with a couple of toys and a book, cd & movie to share and they each got a new Easter dress. They looked adorable in them on Easter Sunday.

Christmas Day

Christmas morning with the Johnson clan was loads of fun. We all look so beautiful. Especially me and my mohawk bed head that I have going on. It was so much fun this year. Makenzie was so excited opening all her presents. Although, next year I think we will take it a little easier on the presents. We have so many grandparents and great-grandparents that buy gifts for our kids, we really don't need to buy much because they are already spoiled. Kamryn being only 5 weeks old got more than I would have every guessed.

Christmas night we spent with the Evans family. It was lots of fun just because we don't all get together like this very often. It seems like the time we do get together like this is less and less and I don't think it will get any better because Nate's brother and family will moving to Germany in May due to being in the Airforce.

Hopefully everyone had a good Christmas holiday. We did and we are so greatful for all our wonderful family and friends. Here's to a great 2007 and hopefully an even better 2008.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve we went to Nate's mom's house in the afternoon and opened presents and ate lots of yummy food and then that night we were at my parent's house in Delta and we let Makenzie open her Christmas pajamas and 1 other present and then made ginger bread houses. That is, everyone else made ginger bread houses while I was transported to the hospital. I had a bottle of bad test strips and over dosed on insulin. Needless to say, it is a Christmas Eve we will never forget!!
