No, we have not been beating our child!!

Ok, so some may think we started beating Makenzie in January, but I swear to you we haven't. Kenzie came running downstairs to our spare bedroom and tripped on a cord and this is the result. FYI - this is 4 days old! The goose egg was huge on her forehead when it happened so this is pretty mild compared to what it was.



Here is another picture several days after the picture above was taken. I really should have taken a picture the day it happened, but was so overwhelmed with trying to get her calm and making sure she didn't have a concussion that I totally spaced it off.

OUCH!! Not so Happy New Year

Yesterday Makenzie decided to ride her scooter to the neighbors house to go play. Right as I looked out the window to make sure she made it there, she biffed it. I could tell she was crying so I opened the window and yelled at her to come back home, but she didn't hear me. She got up, looked around to see if anyone saw her biff it (isn't that just liked a kid to worry about who saw her biff it) and then she shook it off and got back on her scooter and away she went. When she got home, this is what her poor face looked like. She didn't even know she had scratches and she did not want me taking pictures of her, but I did anyway! Although it was much easier to do when she was asleep.
